Standard Remote ID is built into the airframe. It is the production requirement for most drones sold into the United States after 2022, and it is the path that keeps later BVLOS and Part 108 plans from hitting a module-only dead end. Zing has shipped FAA-accepted Remote ID hardware. We use that same stack of identity, radio, and documentation work with OEMs that need the built-in version.

Standard Remote ID is not the same as a broadcast module.
Both can satisfy Part 89 in some cases. They are not interchangeable for production or for BVLOS.

Remote ID broadcast module
An attached transmitter for aircraft that do not have Standard Remote ID. It can keep a legacy fleet legal for many VLOS flights. Z-RID Lite is Zing's FAA-accepted module for that job.

For most unmanned aircraft produced for operation in the U.S. after the 2022 production deadline, manufacturers must build in Standard Remote ID or design the aircraft to operate with an FAA-accepted broadcast module. Standard Remote ID is the built-in path. Operators then have to fly a compliant aircraft (or inside a FRIA) under Part 89. This is general information, not legal advice.
A broadcast module can bring some existing aircraft into Part 89 compliance, but it has operational limits, including visual-line-of-sight rules that Standard Remote ID does not.
